Amazon contains numerous personal interfaces which need something like Ontekusuto.
Book Reviews
Book reviews are a great example of personal expression and socializing. Ontekusuto would offer people writing reviews a place of their own to start this process and maybe do more with what they write? Share it through other channels? Extend their writing? In many ways reviewers are already bloggers, but their expression is currently dispersed and controlled by Amazon.
Amazon could benefit greatly because some people (eg: bloggers) do write about books but do not submit their insights to Amazon (for whatever reason). If there was a seamless and beneficial review interface from Ontekusuto to Amazon, it may facilitate both a quantitative and qualitative change in book reviews.
Wish-list
Wish-lists are a potential source of expression and connection. Current popular wish-list technologies are spread amongst online retailers. Ontekusuto brings this information back home, give it renewed life and context and then re-associate that information with retailers maybe even in more effective and relevant contexts.
Kindle
Ontekusuto can become a space of much added value to digital-products such as Kindle books. First it would become an actual storage space for the books an individual purchases that is independent of Amazon (or other retailers). It could be provided added-value be enabling access to the products not only through their intended delivery/viewing devices. It could acquire added-value through association to other products and personal contexts. Finally it could merge into a personal socialization stream and through that touch more people in more relevant contexts.
Though this may challenge some major digital-rights issues it may prevent things likethis from happening.
